I’m trying to find a book.

It starts out with a divorced couple. I believe he’s either a firefighter or a policeman on vacation or leave due to injury.

During this time he visits his grandmother in a home and she and her fellow residents are taking a trip. The ex-wife is a director (or something) at the nursing home and she’s also on the trip and the bus crashes.

Please help I started the sample but can’t find the book.

Anyone have a guess?
